Lydia's House...THE POWER OF ONE

One person purchasing one stole can make such a difference in the lives of many.  You can be the POWER OF ONE !

What can the POWER OF ONE do?

²      Each time one Lydia's House Stole is purchased the proceeds go to keep over a hundred crafters working.  There are over 100 women and men who depend on the Lydia's House Project for support.  Many are women and men "affected and infected" by the AIDS virus.

²      Others are older adults who are often left behind to take care of themselves and their grandchildren.

²      As Lydia's House grows a portion of each stole will go to support interns who have completed their seminary training and are pastoring in churches.   It cost approximately $325 per month to sponsor an intern minister in the UCCSA Central Regional churches.  There are 43 churches in the Central Region with many ordained ministers having to carry multiple charges.  This makes it crucial to have interns to also help lessen the load, while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

²      Lydia's House proceeds also go to assist with other development projects in the Central region, such as Phila, (pronounced Pea-la) Camp for "Affected."  This camp comes under a new exciting Outdoors Ministry Program, coordinated by Global Ministries missionary Rev. William Kyle.

The DREAM of Lydia's House is to have its own production plant and design studio that creates beautiful and exciting South African inspired clergy wear, women and men apparel, beaded work and other exciting items.  This would enable the Region to create and ensure that a safe, lively and creative working environment would be a benefit to all of the art and crafters alike.

THE POWER OF ONE PERSON, ONE STOLE, CAN DO SO MUCH!

If you wish to make a donation to any of the UCCSA projects, please make your check payable to the Lebanon First Congregational Church, P.O. Box 125, Lebanon, CT 06249.   Please note which project you would like to support:
