How do I become a member?

If you're interested in becoming a member of the First Congregational Church of Lebanon, the first step is to contact either Pastor Sharon or a DeaconPastor Sharon will want to meet with you (and your family) to discuss joining our church family.

You and your family are invited to join the church according to the following...

...through transfer with a letter from another Protestant church,

...through affirmation of faith if you are from the Catholic faith, or

...through affirmation of faith if you have never belonged to   a church.

Baptism is also available for those who are interested in church membership, but have never been baptized.

You'll be invited to a New Members Class typically held one evening prior to New Members Sunday.  This is a special time when prospective new members meet with the Pastor and the Board of Deacons.

The final step towards membership comes on New Members Sunday.  New members are formally welcomed into the church family by the congregation during a special part of the service.  Immediately following the service, new members gather in the Fellowship Hall where they can be greeted and warmly welcomed by the congregation.
