Here we are again, starting a new church year.  Rally Sunday, this year, is September 12.  This is the time to register our children for Sunday School, and to find out what the church boards and committees are all about.  Hope to see you all there.

Although I saw many signs of the church visionary action plans being put into play, last year, I believe we still have a long way to go.  I will be emphasizing this again soon.   Remember, this is a church wide plan, not an individual, or board or committee plan.

All the boards and committees will be busy again this year doing the work of the church to ensure its' life goes on.  Soon the nominating committee will be looking to fill vacancies on boards and committees for the upcoming year.  This is your opportunity to show your commitment to the church by volunteering to support a board or committee when asked.

Everyone does what they can to do the work of the church, and I thank you for that, but I would like to take a moment to show my appreciation to a couple of groups of members of the church that have really shown their church spirit.  I won't mention names because I'll forget someone and feel really bad.  One of the groups I'm thinking of is the ones that help setup the booths, organize working teams, and took down the booths for the fair.  Whether we made a lot of money or not, it was a success because of their hard work.  The other group is those responsible for, what might have seemed, an unending job of moving items in the basement to allow for the new floor, and the painting of the walls.  I thank you also all for this great effort.

By the time you receive this copy of the circuit rider, the Sunday School area should be complete with new floors and freshly painted walls.  Be sure to take the time to go down and take a look.

Also, by now, there should be a beautiful new sign on our front lawn to let the rest of the world know who we are.  This sign project was taken on by Jon Magnuson as his part of supporting the Church Visionary Action plan.  Thank you Jon for all your hard work.  And many thanks to a number of folks in our congregation for their very generous financial donations that made the sign possible.

We have a lot of people in this church that do outstanding work.  Some are visible, while others are behind the scenes.  I'm proud to be a part of such a great organization.

I'm looking forward to this upcoming year.  I hope to see all of you there.

Be active.  Join in.
